André van Haren is a gifted composer of powerfully evocative new-romantic pieces. He handles small chamber ensembles and full-on orchestra with equal artfulness and intelligence. He is also a generous teacher of the art of arranging for concert hall as well as virtual performances (e.g. creating convincing mockups for the film industry). You will like the Moments that André paints here. To me, somewhat reminiscent of Pictures at an Exhibition. Except that André steps hour-to-hour through his own day rather than Mussorgsky's painting-to-painting progression.
