Dear New Reader: Knowing that others have been down this road, and lived to tell their tale will help you endure your own journey. I shared this very journey, side by side with my BC sister, Penny (AND Debbie, too!). Reading the book brought back so much of what I had already forgotten. The initial shock, doctor appointments, information overload, surgeries and treatments. The questions, the answers...Penny puts the truth out there about the cold hard facts of breast cancer and the effects and treatments she endured. Well written with dignity, in the face of an enemy. A MUST READ!

As a friend and former co-worker of Penny Richards, I witnessed her face her cancer with humor and courage. She writes in the same manner. Penny's insights are sharp. For anyone who has a loved one facing a serious illness, I recommend this book.

Penny uses her natural writing talent to capture the essence of an extremely emotionally charged topic with sincere simplicity. Her story is a reminder that cancer does not define who one is. From the crucial decisions to be made in the doctor's office to why do we have 10 hair brushes when we are only a family of three, she is able to write about the realness of day to day life. She is a champion. A must read, whether you have cancer or know one that does. It will remind you that you are a champion as well.

An insightful (and dare I say charming?) look into a journey through breast cancer. At times it’s like sitting over a cup of coffee having a chat with the author. This made me laugh, and cry. It draws you in and makes you feel like part of Penny’s world. A must read for anyone with any form of connection to breast cancer.
