The guide is a great reference; it is a clear concise starting point for understanding your rights in a very complex anti-gun jurisdiction. Does it make sense to cite certain relevant sections of the law in the back of the book? Absolutely! The cites to the law in the back of the book allow you to make the connection to the statutory language for a better understanding of the subject. Knowing how to avoid the pitfalls is important and this Guide helps.

A basic guide to New Jersey Gun Law. This 385 page
paperback contains 184 pages that simply reproduce New
Jersey statues and administrative regulations and 65 pages
from BATF website. Both the New Jersey Statues,
Administrative regulations and BATF information are
available for free on the internet and a weblink to these
sources would more than suffice. Although the paperback
does complile them. The balance of this work
is printed on 8 1/2"x 11" large size pages with many pages
with text on 1/2 of the page only. The same information
could be presented in a work 1/2 the size. Many topics are
covered in a cusory fashion and the book lacks a
comprehensive bibliography that the... More > reader can consult
for further information. The book does not focus on key
legal issues that are now before the federal court, with
the exception of a few quotes from last terms Heller
decision in the U.S. Supreme Court. However, that may go
beyond the intention of the authors. Unlike some other State
Gun Law Guides which are updated via internet linking, this
option is not present. On a positive note, the paperback
does cover the basic issues that would be of concern to a
New Jersey gun owner. It also contains valuable Loopholes
&Pitfalls, of value to the reader. < Less

I disagree 110% with the previous review.. Based on that logic, all you need to do is read Guyton's Physiology and you are a Doctor.. This book compiles into a brilliantly organized and easy to read reference everything you need to know to be in compliance with current laws, which if you live in NJ and own or plan to own or use a firearm.. should be your first concern... Well worth the price-- Thanks Mr. Nappen-
