"Once Upon A Time in Iraq by Basil Balian" Once Upon A Time in Iraq

Basil Balian invites us with open arms to travel back in time to the Iraq of his youth. This real life documentary is straight to the point without unnecessary ornamental adjectives or comments. As a result the reader quickly feels as the guest of honor to a very rich heritage.

Beyond the vastly entertaining experience this book leads to many existential question about modern America. It is also a valuable reflexion on the nature of immigration among many other topics.

I hated this book to end.

At first I wished to prescribe it as mandatory reading to US agencies dealing with Foreign Policies or/and Immigration. On second thought and given the clear and concise approach to so many subjects, I believe this book would benefit every citizen who believes in the effort to bridge culture and diversity...

Very few words yet so much pertinence. TL
