I dedicated my 2nd Symphony in Dm to Margrit Pfister. The 4 movements are periods of her life. The movements, keys and sound colors are outlines that picture her many-sided and varied life path. There are dark, threatening passages alongside comforting, soothing, contemplative, encouraging, even joyful, hopeful and confident stages. These stages are expressed in the many shades of a composition, which originates in the classical organ tradition taking its skill and priorities from the way of using and establishing the means and facilities of this specific instrument in order to realize the composer's aims. Ps. 23 may be read parallel to this symphony. Here are the biblical themes which correspond to the four movements of the symphony: 1 - “in the valley of the shadow of death” – mortal danger 2 - “He leadeth me” – the right path 3 - “the LORD is my shepherd” – my cup runneth over 4 - “in the house of the LORD” – forever
