"A heartful travel guide" This book, which is filled with human interest observations, gave me an insightful view into the real India and Thailand. I really enjoyed the author'a writing style, which is easy to read while at the same time providing helpful travel hints. I enjoyed the way Charmiene Maxwell-Batten intergrates her personal observations and feelings with a factual and down to earth view of the events and people she encountered. It is a delightful and thought provoking collection of stories.

"Like Eat, Pray, Love? Hear it from the First Wave of the Baby Boom Generation of Spiritual Seekers in India" As a Gen X'er, I've read accounts of the Beatles and other rock stars trekking to India to see the Maharishi, but this account is a terrific account of what it was like for one of the many, many non-celebrity spiritual seekers of that generation. What it is like to bag up your bags and uproot your whole life? Having been to India and Thailand myself, (albeit for a much shorter time) this was also a sweet revisit of some of the same places/experiences, making me wish to go back! India is rapidly changing. I highly recommend checking out this account from an excellent author for an incredibly honest and soul-baring account.
