As co-author (librettist), I suppose I'm biased. The story explores three very different perspectives on the war in the Middle East: a soldier, a scientist, and a journalist. Michael and I talked about this project many years ago, and it took us a while to get it written. It's my first play and Michael's first opera. although we have both completed a number of other creative projects at various levels of complexity prior to this one. Michael's evocative writing is modern in style, but eminently listenable and appropriate to the content.
