"Unusual Slavist" This book is about influence of Russian on Americans - if all Slavists were as Dr. Lee Croft, Russian language would be more popular in the US then Spanish.
This book is also a story about endless fight with stupid administrators who gathered power over true Slavic Scholars. Plenty of funny and sad stories that took place during this life long fight represent enjoyable and thought provoking reading. I bet many Slavic (and other) scholars will read this book thinking - if I would have guts as Lee Croft has... They should also envy his devotion and love to his students, and not to his bosses.
