"Hail to the Day!"
Far to often in the modern religion known as Heathenry or Asatru, our texts and discussions tend to focus on the ‘lore’ populated by myths of our Gods including stories of their daring feats and escapades, or the focus is on historical accounts of ancient cultures and specific people… but rarely is prayer spoken of today within this community. Sigdrifa’s Prayer is one of only 2 known prayers of this ancient religion (the other appearing in Gisli’s Saga), and as such provides a crucial glimpse into what has been lost through the ravages of time.

Krasskova’s latest work looks at the modern community on why discussion of prayer has not been explored... More > previously, and cites examples of religious prayer and other types of religious devotion from the ancient past. She provides her own analysis and insights into the prayer itself rich in Heathen cosmological significance through a thoughtful line-by-line investigation that illuminates a far deeper meaning then a cursory reading of the prayer might first suggest.

For anyone who wants more than the run-of-the-mill book on the lore of Heathenry, and would like something that will give insights into the living religious faith, especially if you intend to deepen your own connection with the Gods & Goddesses--this is the book for you! Written in a conversational tone, this book is a fast read, and while it may be a lightweight it packs a big punch by giving your mind a great deal of food for thought for further percolation.
