I read this book because I am thinking of putting my career on hold once my apartment lease is up and taking an short but extended 3-month sojourn in Latin America. Brian writes in a honest and factual manner about living life abroad, about the daily routine punctuated by spontaneous and/or interesting mini-adventures. At times, his passive mis-adventures with women touched my nerves like a tuning fork. Brian answers some questions I had - what is it like to live in a Spanish-speaking country, is it really crazy to actually travel and some that I didn't know I had - what is it like be a G.O. (Employee) at Club Med. Thank you, Brian, I think your book was another realistic perspective on the romantic concept of moving and/or living abroad.

"The slacker's guide to international travel" I loved the book! Brian shows in his own unique way how to travel Europe on a shoestring and what the lowdown is on working at Club Med and living in Latin America for free. Better still is a chronicle of Brian's attempts at finding love, or even just sex, and always choking at the moment of truth. This book will give you lots of insight into just what makes Brian the way he is today. Definitely an entertaining read.
