Brooklyn native Nicole Jettison says freshman year at St. Vincent University in Queens, NY started out like a typical school year at the Big East division school. Cheerleader tryouts, sorority rushes, basketball games, and a lot of school work which was par for the course for any co-ed.
What Jettison didn't count on was extra-curricular activity that included unmasking a shape-shifting drug-dealer, sorcery, and a crash course in fallen angels.
"To make matters worse," says Jettison, "I did it all while battling a Lenni Lenape Indian princess and West African Obeah high priestess for the captain of the basketball team."
In the end, Jettison wins his heart and something else she didn't bargain for; a gift from otherworldly beings that are hell-bent on changing their fate and maybe the world too.

Imagine if you will Michael Douglas replaced by Will Smith and Katheleen Turner with Angela Bassett and you get Romancing the Stone meets Spike Lee's "School Days."
Now throw in tidbits of Angel Heart, the Prophecy, and a Vampire in Brooklyn. What do you get? No, not prose gumbo but a wonderfully tale of a coming age story of all the characters that is founded on the rich African heritage of which most African Americans are ignorant.

Sleeping With a D-Man is a fast paced ride into the unknown with a surprise at every turn of the plot.
"Surprisingly Good"
I caught one of my female friends reading your book and at first glance I thought this was a romance novel, but found that it was so much more. (I like to read, but I'm not big on romance novels, you know?) The story lines are so involved, I still don't see how you managed to get it all in about 200 pages! Excellent work, and I look forward to reading more from you, Ms. Hopkins.
