Based on the grammar of a language, “imperative manifest a vast range of values: command, prayer, invitation, council, permission, petition, prohibition”. The function is to express oneself in a “command”, an “invitation”, an “exhortation”, a “prayer”.
It is widely asserted - without distinction of religious denomination - that the Bible is the word of God. Although He did not write it directly Himself, the author is not man or men (inasmuch as some forty men drafted it) but God. Through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, men compiled the Bible (which is a miniature library) in all its parts, generally known as: the “Old and New Testaments”.
