On Christmas Eve my cousin and his wife let their little son, who just turned 6, open a small gift. His mom gets to pick it out so he doesn’t snag the biggest one. This year she picked out one that she thought might be a book so he could look at the pictures all night, and she told him to open it. The one she picked was the book I had bought him for Christmas (Something Greater Than Fear by Christy Condoleo). She read it to him that night. And then he went upstairs and fell asleep in a tent (fun Christmas Eve stuff to make him want to stay in bed). He loved it! He fell asleep hugging it! And in the morning he didn’t want to open any new gifts until his mom read it to him one more time.... More > Which she did and he enjoyed it again. I’m sure that if I go over there anytime soon I’ll have a 6 year old in my lap asking me to read to him. I read the book before I gave it to him. I read it carefully so I did not fold the pages and it would stay nice and new. I enjoyed this book myself. I bought a second copy and I plan on donating that book to my daughter’s elementary school library. This book is for owl lovers and mice lovers, boys and girls. The art is lovely and the story matches the art perfectly. Great job to both the author and the artist! < Less
