"Good solid information" "Teaching Overseas" is a great book for anyone interested in teaching internationally, especially first-timers. It supplies job seekers with valuable information about what to expect, both the good and the not-so-good, as well as entertaining anecdotes that support the facts. The layout is very easy to navigate when you want "just the facts" and the stories are good reading.
I have worked overseas for almost 20 years as a teacher and administrator. One of my long-term roles was as faculty liaison, helping newcomers settle in to their new lives and life-styles. If teachers had had this book in hand beforehand, the process would have been much sinpler and often happier, as expectations would have been more realistic. I heartily recommend "Teaching Overseas" for those looking at teaching outside their own country ... and I also recommend teaching overseas for those who have a bit of wanderlust. A good book to help with a great experience.
