Kudos! And, two thumbs definitely way up for …

1. Structure - the scope and sequence of the text are very clear. In the “message” the reader matriculates into the WHY of the book through a syntax that harks to the familiar. The reader is made to feel like an old friend being caught-up on not only the framework of the text, but also ways to become personally involved through websites, and “The New Mexico Commission for Community Volunteerism. “

2. A ubiquitously creative approach to preparation - presentation - and practice. This author obviously is keyed into the way children learn best.
Virtually every characteristic from the beginning of the book through to the end (with... More > several extensions) is introduced in a creative and engaging way, allowing as well as promoting all five levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy. For example, using a target vocabulary list presented at the beginning and before the text proper, the author encourages the “discovery” of each word in that list by the way each word incorporates into the text proper, thereby establishing a further sense of success through synthesis. And, yes, children do form an opinion about any teaching tool depending upon the way things seem to be going at ANY given moment.

3. Versatility - virtually anyone involved in the communicative approach to teaching Spanish would find this little book a big, timely, and (dare I say) invaluable resource with which to help further engineer the bridge building that must take place in order to achieve the goal: UNDERSTANDING. And, this writer thinks (beyond a shadow of a doubt) that the author does achieve her goal: Creative, communicative participation.

4. Ideal, appropriate, and (most of all) artistically engaging photography throughout. Text and photography are (like: “hand - in - glove”) a perfect fit.

Au travail! I can’t wait to see what comes from your pen, Marie, and from Sheri’s camera next.

With respect and admiration,
