As the Author of "The Descent" I hope you find it to be an enlightening and enjoyable read. I'm a white male, now living in Iowa. As a "damnyankee" student at the University of North Carolina in the mid-20th Century I had many opportunities to observe the way Blacks were mistreated in the South. Perhaps my novel will be a small measure of recompense.
