Linda Runyon was raised in Plainfield and Watchung, New Jersey. She spent 3 months of a year at her parents' camp in Indian Lake, New York. This wilderness setting was the background for her own wilderness experiences, homesteading on the outskirts of Indian Lake, NY. For 13 years, she and her son, and husband, lived without indoor plumbing, electricity or running water. This way of life blessed Linda with the knowledge to write her books and continue using its many skills, even in her comfortable log home and retirement years.
Her days are filled with her miniature horses, dogs, cats, chickens and gardening. A mother of 3, Grandmother of 6, registered nurse, author/lecturer and artist.
"This book shows how to identify, gather and prepare edible wild foods no matter where you live. This is one of the most empowering books I have ever read. There is no doomsday. Look down and eat up!"
