"References from People who know about Chido's work"
10 years ago we built a childrens’ home in Karoi where the future of the orphans stood at the center. Chido is offering us a second chance in succeeding to reach this goal. We know that the training gives new hope to a generation of Zimbabweans.
Robi Valkhof, Founder of the Karoi Orphanage and President of CAOS

Chido inspired both the rural poor and rich inner-city kids in the coffee region. She brought a wealth of experience, how to overcome the worst and then motivate all to be our best. Inspiring.
Carmenza Jaramillo, Muhsroom Entrepreneur and Scientist from Colombia

She was no ordinary... More > technical consultant, this 23 year old woman who had just arrived in central India from a remote corner of Zimbabwe with her little bags of mushroom spawn. Language was no barrier for Chido, and her enthusiasm was contagious --within a few days, she had inducted three groups of local villagers into a valuable new livelihood and a secure source of nourishment.
Ashok Khosla, Chairman Development Alternatives and President, IUCN

Chido overcame abuse, provided for her family with food, and now inspires girls at risk to turn leaves and dead wood into food. Her courage and story are empowering and humbling, and it feels like she’s just beginning her journey of profound social impact.
Richard B. Perl, co-founder of the Social Venture Network

Chido's story of taking risk, overcoming obstacles, and trying to change this world for the better, all at such a young age, is truly inspiring. Her story helped me realize now, while I'm young, is the time to fight for change, not decades down the line.
Nikhil Arora, Co-founder, BTTR Ventures

The future of Hope in Africa is with the millions of young people like Chido, believing in the power of hope and their dreams to make real changes to this beautiful continent.
Nirmala Nair, President ZERI Southern Africa

Zimbabwe was once a shining beacon of hope, perhaps the most promising hope for a common, just and prosperous future on the African continent. That hope is all but vanished. What is left is a story of women and children left to face the daily struggles for survival in a harsh world. Chido’s story is a reminder that behind the big debates, there is a very personal and tragic story of human failure and a determined spirit to get it right.
Max Gomera, Zimbabwean Economist, currently with UN Environment Program Nairobi

As I sat among the 2000 delegates of the YES Summit, I marveled at the incredible journey that Chido took from an orphan to a self-reliant role model of sustainable development and I joined in honoring her with a standing ovation.
Poonam Ahluwalia, Founder and Chair Youth Entrepreneurship and Sustainability Campaign
