"the great cholesterol con revisited "
This book will change the way you hear everything put out by the "health" professionals in regards to diet & heart health.
I can't say enough good things about this book. The great cholesterol con by Anthony Colpo is a wonderfully informative book. This is a must read for anyone who has ever been told by a doctor that their cholesterol is too high, or who even knows anyone who has been given that bit of doctorly advice in the past. Indeed it is a MUST read for anyone who wants to be healthier overall.
Before you start on the slippery slope of medication for this so called disease, read this book. Arm yourself with information & discuss it... More > with your doctor, and don't be put off as though you may be somehow mentally or intellectually inferior because after reading The Great Cholesterol Con, you will probably end up knowing more about CHD & cholesterol than your doctor does currently.
Anthony Colpo has managed to make all that dry, hard to understand medical jargon easy to read for all us non medical people.
As I read this book I began to think, when did it happen? When did we stop thinking for ourselves? How did these big money making medical concerns take over our lives with the promise to 'fix' every little thing with a pill? How did a natural healthy food like saturated fat become the enemy? Why are we still listening to the rubbish being fed to us on how to be healthy, when the evidence of our own bodies is telling us the opposite? Why do we trust the 'authorities' & not ourselves? This book answered those questions for me.
Anthony Colpo took that leap of faith that we all need to take sometimes and investigated the evidence given by the mainstream medical establishment, along with the evidence that exists out there that refutes the falsehoods we are being fed. He realised what we were being told to do didn't stack up to what was happening to his own body by following these so called expert opinions. Anthony clearly sets out all the information available & allows the reader to draw their own conclusions. All I can say is thank God for Anthony's strength of character & his insatiable quest for knowledge,& for his dedication in passing on all he has found out & making it easy & entertaining to read. We can never have too much knowledge and this book just goes to show how involved the human body really is and how simplistic ideas like cutting out all saturated fat from the diet will cure heart disease really is. It also makes one realise that even if you have a degree in medicine you still need to keep learning and you should never just accept someone else’s word for anything, especially when it comes to something as important as our health. Anthony Colpo has painstakingly investigated something dear to his heart (no pun intended) and presented it in a way that anyone can understand & learn from. Do yourself & those you love a favour read the book, buy a copy for someone else & get the knowledge out there. Use the experience as a springboard for learning all you can about every health issue & ask the questions. Why are we worrying about how much money is spent on hospitals & the health care budget? Shouldn't we be wondering why so many people are getting sick & why are so many nutritionally related diseases becoming epidemic?? Maybe reading this book will answer that for you, or at least make you start asking the questions.
This updated version contains even more pages of information so the truth is out there, even if the so called medical experts on shows like "what's good for you" tell you differently you will at least know better after reading this great book.

Few books come close to being as well researched and supported in their logic of de-contructing the cholesterol myth. Anthony Colpo, as an Australian medical researcher who lost his father to heart related issues, makes a sound case for good health practices, dietary factors and exercise as the key to heart health. The book was an instrumental volume of historical review of the issue, and good advice, given the U.S.-FDA's ineffectiveness and the pharma industry's priority of profits over patient health.
