So, for the first few pages, I was laughing. The lines as they were delivered really helped explain this guy so that the writing style itself is understandable, and the grammar is thus just as easily forgivable. He is poor, unread, and lonely, so this is his handwritten journal. That's partly the problem, because aside from the genital warts, it could have been my journal at the age of 25. Right down to the temp jobs, bad teeth, and lousy dates. This is really strong writing in spite of the character’s fumbling grammatical errors. He is still descriptive enough to really help you understand that how he sees himself and how other see him are at complete odds with each other. He has no self esteem, and so every attempt to offer advice is "tearing him down". It's good stuff, but just not funny stuff. In any case, it is a book I would recommend to others with the caveat that it's not really a comedy at all.

"Re: Interesting...." why'd ophelia only give it 3 stars if she couldnt put it down? surely that quality merits higher than a 50% rating...i'd go so far as to say there are only the top 3% of books that i cannot put down

"pretty cover" If you like self-deprecating humor, I'd definitely recommend this book. I think most people can relate to the main character on certain levels. Even if you can't, it's a pretty quick read and you're in for a few laughs so there's really nothing to lose.

"Once I started reading I couldn't stop! *****" Very gripping- I started reading the preview and I couldn't stop until the arrow went grey and I ran out of pages. It's such a sad life but it's so real- some of the things could have straight out of my journal a couple of years ago (includign the temp jobs). Easy to read and very easy to get wrapped up into!

"An Enjoyable Tale" This book is both humorous and strikingly honest. The main character shares his thoughts on life and details his shortcomings and adventures. I feel that nearly anyone will find some of the journal entries hitting very close to home. We have all experienced times of great sadness, and this book accurately captures those feelings with the honest writing style. It is the tale of a struggling man who hides nothing from his pages. One is left with the impression that the protagonist exists. In a sense, there is a little bit of him in everyone, which is why I recommend the book. The story will make you examine your own true thoughts about all of life's tribulations. Overall, this is a very enjoyable novel that will make you laugh one moment and reflect in the next.
