Deucalion is a planet fifty-five thousand light-years from Earth and myth says that its people were brought here from Earth ten thousand year-spans earlier by Katrina, an Earth woman. Pelle, a Deucalionean, is visiting Earth but misplaces his time travel device and is unable to get home. Meanwhile back on Deucalion Pelle's father Chichén experiments with a shamanic weed known as paccar and excuses his use of paccar as a means to visit Earth and learn why his son Pelle and companion Kersee have not returned to Deucalion. But the real truth lies in Chichén's life quest to know if the Katrina myth is true. Time travel is necessary to the plot of Katrina but the virtues and weaknesses of the players are the real focus, whether expressed on Earth or on a planet in the distant constellation of Aquarius.
