I don't know how I've missed Mr. Shotts' work before, but this book is excellent. If I am asked to recommend to anyone who really wants to become proficient on the command line - this book is on the top of my list. Willam's style and prose mix well with his delivery of the technical skills. His focus is laser sharp toward the actual subject at hand without all the fluff. In a phrase - he grasps the subject and explains it in very easy to read and comprehend language. This is well worth the cost and Lulu delivered well before my expectations. I strongly recommend this reading if you really want to know what the true power of Linux is about and why the command line makes the difficult tasks possible.
