"It rings true" While I took the ham radio route instead of CB, all of this rings true at one level or another for a high-school mad scientist/radio nut. We had a different set of characters in St. Louis, but I recognize just about every one in Bob's book. Once I picked it up I had to read it right through to the end.

"A true coming of age story!" Zito does a masterful job capturing the nature of a true coming of age story, rivaled only by classic movies like "Stand By Me" and "The Sandlot". Centered around the rise and decline of the CB radio craze, Zito grows up with his gang of friends and allows us to watch ... riding back in time with a turn of a page. I recommend this read to anyone with an interest in CB radios and everyone with an interest in a stirring tale of one boy's journey into manhood.

"My Uncle was into CB radio!" I bet this would make a GREAT Christmas gift for him. These days everyone seems to have a cell phone and they are video chatting, etc. on their computers. The Preview shows that this is a very interesting + powerful coming of age tale told in simple + plain language which is just the way that it should be. Three Thumbs up - from me - only because I needed my other two thumbs to type this book review! LOL!!!
Peace + Love!

"From one woman's perpective with a high tech boyfriend"
My boyfriend, who was into CB, recommended this book to me. This wasn’t a book that I would normally pick up. I am a woman and I was not interested in the technological thing or CB radio but I really could identify with not being a member of the “in-crowd.” I was lonely and very sad during my school years and I found myself seeing through his eyes and rooting for him big time. His failures made me so sad that I cried for him. It also made me mad at the people that hurt him! His successes made me smile and my heart leap for joy! It was fun seeing coming of age, in the same era, from a male perspective. I didn’t expect to be... More > touched or to be able to identify with the story so much! The honesty and emotions were almost too real, they drew me in and made me finish it faster then I normally would! It also helped me understand how my boyfriend has this emotional attachment to technology. It has given us a common subject to talk about that has opened him up to me! Thanks Bob! < Less

"The Misfits of Channel 10" An excellent source for learning about the history of Lafayette Radio Electronics Corporation. Some highly enjoyable passages by Mr. Zito, poignant at many other points throughout his book.
