"Re: The Whitehouse Boys"
To make a long story short, the most nightmarish of the things I remember about my childhood is the night I watched my brother receive such a ferocious beating from my mother that he ended up in the hospital with 87 stiches in his head. We received beatings on a regular basis. We were a military family. Every time one of us ended up in the hospital, it was explained away by my mother and accepted by the doctors because of my father, who was a two star rear admiral. This was late 50's and through the 60's. She was never prosecuted. On her death bed, when I was 42 years old, I asked her if she was ready to apologize, and of course she said nothing. My mother... More > completely destroyed me and I am a broken adult. I have never been able to keep a husband and ended up a single mother. I was so afraid of being like my mother, I went the opposite way with my daughter and completely spoiled her. I was so afraid to discipline her that . . . . . . . well, to make another long story short, at the very young age of 18, she was sentanced to 10 years in Federal prison for dealing meth. It was her first of offense, but because of mandatory sentancing, she is in FCI Danbury. The judge even said, and I quote, "...Ms. Richardson, I am so sorry I have to do this, but..."

Anyway, my question to you is are you able to prosecute anyone who tortued you? Or do we have to leave them up to God?

Sharing your pain,
Patty

"The Whitehouse Boys"
I received my book late yesterday and I started reading it and stayed up all night to finish it. What can I say, Roger, it is heart wrenching and truly a tragedy but a story that needed to be told. You are literally drawn into the story and at times, especially if you have been abused yourself, you feel every pain from the strap, the horrible feeling of what the name calling does, the desperation of knowing that no one cares and that there will be no one to rescue you. I have been to that desperation and it came from my own mother. It is a slow process to learn to love.
To all of those little boys that didn't make it and to those that did, but, will always replay... More > their lives in their mind and will try to answer the question of WHY? I have you in my thoughts everyday and pray that more pieces of your heart will heal everyday. I highly recommend this book to everyone who needs to understand that there are bad people out there and that child abuse is NEVER OKAY!! It is still happening and we all need to get involved for all of those abused children are our children. My daughter in law always finishes her emails with this: "Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle". Thank you, Roger, for a job well done!!! < Less

"Re: The Whitehouse Boys" Cathy, thank you for your very kind words. I am happy to report that the Governor of Florida has called for a full investigation on this matter. It has taken me seventeen years to expose this terrible atrosity. I suspect there are more than 200 boys who were raped, tortured and killed. When this story breaks on Monday morning on national television; these fellows who survived are going to come running and the truth will finally be told.

Thank you so much,

Roger
