An isolated desert town is ravaged by an ancient Indian spirit and a monstrous horde of deadly animals. Carried on the winds generated by a protective spirit of the ancient Hualapai people of northern Arizona, the phantom begins a war of extermination of the town’s residents for the violation of a gold-filled cave in the Sacred Mountain of the Hualapai. Native American Sheriff Sam Walking Bear dubs the hellish puffball-like creatures “hairballs.” Mike Reed, a young paleoanthropologist from Arizona State University, is visiting the region and digging for ancient knowledge. He inadvertently finds himself caught up in the unearthly onslaughts of the deadly hairballs and their demonic master. Angered by the senseless killings and wanting to do something to help the people of the small town of which he has grown fond, he volunteers as Sam’s deputy to battle the overwhelming supernatural menace. The pair must destroy the all-powerful phantom and its hairball army borne on THE WINDS OF HELL!
