Originally published in 1910 as part of the "Great Marvels" series, "Through Space to Mars" is one of the earliest space fiction novels written for young readers. The author, Howard R. Garis (writing under the house name of Roy Rockwood), was one of the most prolific children's book authors of all time. Among his hundreds of other books he was the creator of the Bobbsey Twins and Tom Swift.
