Janet Butler’s chapbook, “Under Italian Skies”, gathers poems written over a six year period, some while living in Italy, others written through the softening lens of memory. They express her deep love for the land, its art, its ghosts ever there beside us, whether we walk the many-peopled streets of Rome, or meander a drowsy, hill-top village. Italy, in its magnificence, attests to a past, always present.
