The book is based on the memoirs of the author and his compilation of documentary materials gathered during several years of field investigations covering the wave of events that generated sighting incident reports of unidentified aerial phenomenon (UFOs) that transpired in the Philippines in 1979 and other similar sightings and bizarre "close encounters" with the unknown and unearthly in the 1980s, as well as documentary reports from the files of the US Air Force's Project Blue Book.
"UNKNOWN & UNEARTHLY: The Philippine UFO Experience" Well, I have just finished Edwin Gatia's new book "Unknown & Unearthly: The Philippine UFO Experience." (Lulu Publ.,2009). I am in agreement with what Dr. Rodeghier
wrote in the Foreword. Edwin Gatia has made an important contribution to the serious UFO literature for a part of the globe that has been overlooked for much too long. As you might well understand, I was particularly interested in the pilot sightings that Gatia reviewed and
went back through all of them to see if I had them in my AIRCAT files. I did not! I found two new ones which I have added. So Edwin Gatia has contributed to my own research as well for which I... More > thank him.
Chapter seven was also "fun" to read and should be both an encouragement and a discouragement to younger folks who want to become field investigators. I could identify
with some of his own frustrating experiences described there.
I only wish that others around the world would do all of the hard work and focused activities needed (as Edwin Gatia has done here) to write historical summaries of events for their countries. We all would be far "richer" for it.
