"YOU DON’T HAVE TO TAKE IT!" As a child, growing up in an abusive environment, and later as an adult, in the midst of domestic violence, I had no idea that I WAS being abused. It took me 40 years to come to the realization that situations like mine continue to exist due to an innate Code of Silence the victim has no way of comprehending. It is my goal to see the monstrous effects of child abuse come into the light of day in my lifetime. There is no way to deal with them in secrecy. I cannot think of a better book to further this effort than this one. It is written in concise terms that any youngster (or caregiver) can understand, defines abuse and attacks its causes, lists places to go for help, and would have made a vast difference in my life, had I been privileged to read it in my youth.
