"A different side of the Afghanistan." Wow, this book surprised me. Rather then presenting us with many drawings about what the author observed at war, he presents us with a look at himself. The pictures effectively captured his emotions throughout his time in Kandahar. The pictures are edgy. You can feel the tension that can only be brought about by war. The drawings are not abstract. They are very accurately drawn but the subject matter was not at all what I expected. For instance, the drawings of Roman coins makes you ponder that past and what series of events resulted in the war torn Country the author found himself in.

I loved the book, it is essential reading for anyone interested in the conflicts in the middle east and how they're affecting our soldiers.

"Re: Impressive " Dear Maggie, Thank you for being so generous, both with your words about my book, and what you do for kids.
Sincerely,
