23 Sandy Gallery is pleased to present the exhibition catalog for "Shelter: A National Juried Exhibition of Contemporary Photography." Shelter explores architecture, habitat and sanctuary. It is one of our most basic human needs—at once both physical and psychological. Photographers were challenged to explore how shelter can be interpreted visually given its myriad manifestations.
Shelter features the following photographers: Keliy Anderson-Staley, Chris Bennett, Nan Brown, Brad Carlile, Eric Curry, Diane Deaton-Street, Liat Elbling, Barry Finkel, Barbara Gilson, Jon Gottshall, M. Bruce Hall, Stewart Harvey, Melissa Hogan, Scott Jones, Jim Kazanjian, Janos Lanyi, Jim Leisy, Jim Lommasson, Robert Morris, Loren Nelson, Alexis Pike, Ann Ploeger, Frank Relle, Randy Richmond, Peter Snadik, Don Unrau, and Leigh Van Duzer.
This exhibition was juried by Randy Gragg, a writer and editor who recently he developed and is now editing a new design magazine called Portland Spaces.
