Joel Osteen is, without a doubt, one of the most prominent pastors in the United States. Senior pastor of Lakewood Church, the nation’s largest and fastest growing congregation, Osteen has achieved a great deal of recognition both from Christian circles and the world at large.
The problem with Joel’s popularity is that it stems from his watered down Savior-less message that sounds much more like Tony Robbins than Jesus Christ. Every week, he lulls his listeners into a false sense of eternal security, deceiving them into believing that what he’s teaching will save them. He preaches to their materialistic lusts, all the while lining his pockets with their hard earned savings.
Up until this point, no book has challenged the false teachings of so-called “Pastor” Osteen, due largely to his popularity and connections to major publishers. Today, this book takes a stand against the sugar coated sewage flowing from the pulpit of Lakewood Church.

I've never been to Joel Osteen's church, but I do receive his emails and I watch his sermons... I wouldn't know about him lining his pockets with money, but I do know this, whenever I have heard his sermons, read his messages, they have made me feel good and positive and hope full. You'll say that this is because of his, 'health wealth gospel' approach to the bible, we'll I've heard self Ritious, money bagging preachers (there's no dearth of them in my country)and believe me, Joel is waaaaay better than them. I love his way of pulling out usable and simple messages from small extracts of the bible. I've read some blogs saying that, '..his church (Lakewood)has maximum attendance when society is at its lowest...' Is that a bad thing?? If he gives hope to people when all they see is society crumbling around them, I think that's true Christianity. His Church has so much money blah blah blah, when the churches don't have money, people find flaws in them, when they do get money, people find... More > flaws in them. I mean seriously? If his Church gets all that cash its because people are donating willingly because they feel happy to be there. It's not like he's holding everyone at gun point! It's a pretty simple thing at the end, he makes us see the world with the, 'glass is half full' perspective, which in turn makes us happier, positive, perform better in our day to day lives and therefore makes us better people... better Christians... Jesus want's us to be joyous Christians, not people who roam around sullen faced and dejected. Of course we have to go through the trials of life, but if we can do that with a feeling of hope and joy, then what the heck is wrong with that?< Less
