Personnel Selection Methods of Multinational Corporations in Bangkok in the Service Industry
Usually printed in 3 - 5 business days
Striking a balance between globalization and localization in human resource management (HRM) is a challenge for MNCs. Based on a sample 27 subsidiaries of multinational corporations (MNCs) this paper investigates the relationship between MNC subsidiary human resource management (HRM) practices and the parent MNCs, specifically targeting personnel selection by using a questionnaire. Our empirical findings suggest that organizations in Bangkok are indeed slowly converting to parent MNC HRM strategy even though the current selection criteria may still be driven by Thailand’s prevalent cultural values.
