"The Man in the Middle" Set against the background of a dubious language school in Central London, owned by Nero Handsworth,a murder, two bungling hitmen, a police inspector with delusions of grandeur, a car called Mr. Fluffles and the Bromley Gaming Society, is Percy Gabbitt, an innocent, in what most would agree is a naughty world... A mere foot soldier in the cut and thrust of the language school marketing world, Gabbitt is inwittingly drawn into a tangled web of intrigue, that begins in Central London and by way of Catford and Bromley Common, takes him to Taipei and Seoul; yet somehow the custard pies targeted for Mr. Gabbitt seem to hit other people! An amusing and entertaining read.

"The Man in the Middle (The Marketeer - Part 1)" This book delivers on several levels. The plots, there are essentially two, are cleverly intertwined; they move with rapidly changing scenes progressing at a breathtaking pace. Characters on one level (in the 'real world') are irritatingly believable; readers will probably have met most of them before in different guises at some point in their lives. The alternative characters on the 'other level' are not simply fantastic but also highly amusing. Tammy the goblin is probably the much needed missing ingredient from a plethora of fantasy books. His laid-back and casual approach to life brings him rapidly to the status of 'unsung and much unappreciated hero,' a role most of us could only ever hope to aspire to. The way the story is told, quickly draws the reader in and creates a thirst for more and more pages. 'The Man in the Middle (The Marketeer - Part 1)' is a very enjoyable novel crammed with unusual locations, characters and... More > with twists at and before each and every corner, of which there are a great many. Buy this book now! - you'll be recommending it to your friends before you've turned the last page.< Less
