Inspired by Federico Garcia Lorca's masterpiece Yerma, this is a story with eros and death in it. Yermary is placed in America big Depression time, California, the early Thirties of the Twentieth century. Mary, a naive dreamer, is married to John Crook, a winning boaster and swindler guy. He cannot or maybe would not want give her babies. Sterility stands between them like a wall of incommunicability which gradually becomes a solipsysm circle around them, haunting them with madness and destruction. In the background there is the hard economic crisis, the massive peasant and farmhand immigration from midwest to California eldorado, where large landowner banks exploit them ruthlessly and hired sheriffs hunt down riot stirrers like Vic, the italian anarchist whom Mary falls in love with. ... A theatrical drama readable like a novel.
