About Al Ferguson

Al served with the Georgia Army National Guard as an Infantryman and a Paratrooper in a Long Range Surveillance Unit for 6 years. He began his law enforcement career in 1988 as a dispatcher with the Mayodan Police Department (NC). After graduating from Western Carolina University with a BS degree in Criminal Justice in 1993, he joined the High Point Police Department (NC) where he currently works as a Lieutenant in the Field Operations Division. Al has worked as a Patrol Officer, a Street Level Narcotics Officer, a Field Training Officer, the Department Training Officer, a supervisor on a patrol team, a supervisor over the Street Crimes Unit, and currently as a supervisor on a Field Training Team. Al has also served as a Hostage Negotiator and as an Honor Guard supervisor. He is a graduate of the 112th AOC / SPI. Al is married and lives with his wife and son in the Piedmont Triad of North Carolina.
