"A different sort of information" I found this book a refreshing take on Sunderland's chronological war history. Mainly i found the fact that this book has a Roll of Honour for the Merchant Navy who died in the Sunderland area during the war gives this book a unique community element, which, subsequently means that anyone wanting to find out about family or an old friend can do so in a way that was never available to them before. Given that the author lives in Sunderland you can tell that his attention to detail is not simply out of want for the book, but also for the want to gather this information to benefit others that he may or may not know. This is a great book as it can be utilised for both recreational or educational purposes.
