For the first time, both parts of Transition are under one cover! "Transition: Part One - A Comics Artist is Formed" is the true story of how I grew up with comics, abandoned them, and then returned to them and decided to start self-publishing! "Transition: Part Two - The Best of All Possible Worlds" describes the secret origins of my minicomic PHASE 7, as well as many of the things I learned in my first 4 years of self-publishing. This book secretly contains many useful tips on how to start your own comic book, distribute it and get involved in the comics community!

This graphic novel was a pleasant surprise. I ordered it because I am working on my book, collecting artwork from a comic that I did in the 1980s' and wanted to see a real life example of what Lulu can do. I browsed through the many graphic novel offerings and was pleased to find Phase 7. I picked this volume over the other as the subject of how Mr. Longstreth got into comics appealed to me. I received the book this week and read it cover-to-cover. The writing often times reminded me of a more laid-back Harvey Pekar. I admire and was inspired by the author's dedication to his creative life . I also enjoyed and related to how the author's friendships and family supported his artistic life. I'm now looking forward to the other volume of Phase 7 and looking up Mr. Longstreth's other work. Well done! OK HW
"Transition: Phase 7 #010 & #011 " Alec Longstreth (artist of The Dvorak Zine and Phase 7 Comic,) has done it again! If you read comics, draw comics, or would like to learn how to publish your own, this is the book for you! I read it all the day it arrived. Alec will entertain, teach, and inspire you with his black and white comics. You too will experience a TRANSITION!
