Against a backdrop of deep underground caverns close to the molten center of the earth, High King Dorian Mytharia and his people, the vaarakanan wage war against sinister forces that have invaded their home. Facing declining birth rates, and attrition from millennia of warfare, the vaarakanan are doomed unless he can find a way to reverse this trend. Dorian knows this ultimate challenge will be impossible to solve while under constant threat. The only way he sees to ensure his people get the chance to change their future is a war of genocide against the invaders. It is a decision that will either save his race, or bring about their premature extinction.

Jun 26, 2008"Morakduun the Reforging by Aleeha Travis" i already posted a review of this on the message boards and wish i knew how to transfer it here. i am severely visually challenged and homebound in a wheelchair, so please forgive typos, spelling etc. i wil try to say basically the same thing here i said on the boards. i am new to this, although have had some short stories published without payment and a lot of non-fiction work published under various names, also without payment. i highly respect any author who takes the time to go into the commercial market. i found this book fascinating and intriguing enough to go to the trouble of reading it with my magnifiers and was frustrated to the max that i couldn't see well enough to just read it through - it took some time. i am going through huge losses in my personal life and the book took me out of that into a fascinating saga that also reflected that. In the hero i found a persona that was flawed and realistic, yet a true hero... More > despite his flaws - as i suppose we all want to be in truth. Although it took me out of my troubles it also helped me to face them, encouraging me that i, too, can overcome the obstacles in my life. And it did this without being like a preachy self-help type or religious dissertation. it was a riveting tale of intrigue among a race not us, yet so like us in so many ways. the only flaw was the print size and some continuity or flow challenges. But as the author is a first timer, to my knowledge, at least in the commercial market, i'd say it's outstanding and a "must read" to any true fantasy or sci-fi fan and is right up there with Orson Scott Card, Anne McCaffrey and the author of the "Harry Potter" series, if not in content type, in overall quality, in my mind. if this review were being done on a hotel - rating system i'd give it 4 1/2 stars out of 5, as i've stated elsewhere. (being somewhat computer illiterate and "Legally" if not totally "blind" i find computers confusing and was challenged greatly by this site, so please forgive me and forgive me for any spelling, grammar and typos as i do not see what i'm writing well due to the font size here) Having worked as a tarot reader and substance abuse counselor, with a knowledge of human nature to some meager extent, i predict this book will go far if properly marketed. Mrs. judith LABONTE P.S. again, forgive the duplication due to my ignorance of this site.< Less
