An inspirational account of a couple of exceptional teenagers having a cycling adventure whilst fundraising for charity. The book is a good light read, provides some constructive pointers of planning an epic cycle and surviving it! A must for parents trying to get their kids away from a life on the computer in their bedrooms! The book covers Alex and Tom's first trip to Paris and their follow on epic 3000km cycle. They were inspired by the Tour de France to tackle a similar duration and distance covering 3000km in 23 cycling days and a couple of the mountain legs are included too. With no back up teams and heavy panniers they describe the search for 8000 calories/day and the ideal rough camping spot with anecdotes of insect plaques and accidents that would make many wonder why. What unfolds is the touching account of the birth of a lifelong friendship built on respect, admiration, strength and determination as well as, £1/km raised for the Multiple Sclerosis Society to benefit... More > others. Proceeds of book sales also go to MS Society charity. Perfect to inspire the young and young at heart to get cycling-perfect for the Tour de France coming to UK!! Yu will not be disappointed< Less
