Drame en cinq actes. In 1848, Alexandre Dumas, an illegitimate son, cruelly excluded from Parisian Society, wrote one of the nineteenth century's most moving novels. Four years later, he penned this play based on the novel, which itself was Verdi's inspiration for the tragic opera La Traviata. Today, however, the original drama in French is nowhere to be found, and has been out of print for years. Until Professor Marteinson found an old manuscript and edited this new French edition. ISBN 0-9738985-1-8.
