All communities develop written or unwritten rules that express their identity & ethos as well as addressing more pragmatic functions. Clarity breeds confidence; investment in a clear outline of the ethos & mechanics of a community empowers members & instils in them the confidence needed to get on with serving the cause of the Gospel.
These canons are the product of over 10 years of experience, research & discernment by our community exploring the way we wish to order our common journey as Grace Catholics & our identity within the OC/IC movement.
We decided to publish our canons believing that; a community's rules say as much about its beliefs & aims as any creedal statement does & that OC/IC members & communities need to be more visible. One way to achieve this is to make our writings available to a wider audience. Our canons are just one possible system & we would be very pleased if anything in them should prove useful to other communities in... More > framing their own.< Less

"canons of grace catholic church" this book is very thorough. It is indeed a reprint of the canons that "grace catholic church" adopted when there was in fact an organization called grace catholic. However before the canons were published all clergy and all but one lay person of "grace cathoic church" left that group. Unless there has been a thousand fold exspansion since November of last year these canons exist only in the mind of the two arthors. It should be noted that the former clergy did make contributions and supported the canons until relevant information about the validity of the ceo was revealed in an academic book written by a John Plummer entitled "the independent sacramental movement" If you are looking for "canons" for a as yet to exist community then this is your book. The above info can be verified upon request.
