I don’t like violent stories and this book has several of them. However, the violence in this book is just part of the story. I don’t know much about crack addiction so I learned a lot from this book. The stories are gripping and it’s sad that some people live this way but this book brings out the real stories of crack addiction. A must read if you ever wondered about the real stories beneath the headlines.

The book is well written and the stories are gripping. It’s an easy read with a lot of characters, maybe too many characters. Overall, though, it’s a gritty, real life crime story with a realistic and hopeful ending.
