The story as well as the plot of this romantic novel entitled, Two Gay Muslim Couples, have been presented in a very impressive manner. The story begins in Afghanistan, a mountainous country, where life is rough and tough and where people have strong faith in their conservative mores and rigid outlooks. The next part of the same story starts in Iran, where Shiite Islam and local customs play very strong roles in the Iranians lives. Like Afghanistan, Iran is a panoramic country, where the majority of the people hold conservatives values and believe in virility and manliness. Since the Islamic revolution, death penalty is imposed on homosexuals. The third part of the story opens in the Arab world, which is geographically huge with different climates, where the majority of Arabs walk on the same downtrodden way as mentioned above. In some Arab countries punishment for homosexual activity is death. Even if in countries where there is no death penalty for gays, people despise homosexuals... More > and punish them disdainfully. Ahmad and Mahmud are two devoted lovers, who endured tremendous pains due to the Pak-Afghan rigid traditions and local mores. All of the above named characters are vey handsome, intelligent and faithful persons, who succeeded to become productive members of our society here in the U.S.A. The author’s presentation of gay’s plight in the Muslim world is excellent.< Less
