"Alice's energies form powerful creations rooted in alchemy and dream. Wondrous angels pose as seductresses of the underworld, myths modernized with potently dark erotic undercurrents. Using
many of her own stories as inspirations for artwork, Alice's paintings and digital pieces teem with fantastic, transformative characters that appear as goddesses of fire and light. Her grand fairy tales are of feral beings, languid sirens reflected from within, tales that shed
painted blood from magic canvases."

"Mythic Images in the Information Age." A good artist ought to function like a Shaman; like Agent 139, author of "Join My Cult", noted: "Art, music, dance; all of these started as religion, as magic..." Art is one of the few things that remains misunderstood in the current days and times of our society; what function it provides, why certain humans are oriented towards it, and why others love it so much. The process probably has to due with the unveiling of mythic ideas which resonate within the symbolic context that we use to interpret all things. Alice proves herself a master at taking the mythic and putting it into a contect that can easily be seen ten thousand years ago, or today at a Fetish ball. Beauty, like myths, is an eternal idea that humans understand as they grow older. The art in The Intercourse of Angels proves itself time and again, building and brewing. A thousand symbols themselves interact in the different portraits. From the Orphic egg... More > that was revered by the Gnostics, to the hidden eye of the Oracle, these things intertwine and create a witches brew of wonder. The awe inspired by art is magical, and the awe that impressed me by looking at Alice's work is that she can see between and before, and then direct her art to show the images unfolding in her mind, making a permanent impression of her thoughts. I recommend this book of art, not because simply the context intrigues me, but also because the beauty is inspiring. We all want something beautiful, mythic, something lasting and immortal... And "The Intercourse of Angels" gives us just sch a view, from a very talented artist.< Less
