Alice Lockmiller has an amazing ability to quickly and unexpectedly draw me in to her stories. Using her thorough historical research she paints a picture of the times in my mind that is instructional and delightful. I have found the reading level to be age appropriate. It needs to be understood that she presents her characters in relation to the religion of that time and place. As long as this is understood, I highly recommend her stories!
