    I bought the digital download for this book. The science/medical information in the book was easy to read and understand, but the how to do the diet was very vague and sparse. The information for the different phases was a page per each phase without any real detailed information. I emailed the doctor at the email address on his website but the email was bounced back to me. Hopefully he will read this review and issue an update for the book. I liked that he based the alkalinity/acidity of the foods on the PRAL reading rather than the Ash readings. I think the PRAL reading is better as it is based on the nutrients in the food. It is a 480 page book but pages 170-343 is a PRAL listing of foods. Here are my issues with the book: On page 77 and 80 there are mention of tables at the end of the chapter on what proteins to eat. You are supposed to only eat certain proteins during specific phases, but the tables are not at the end of the chapter. Page 74 mentions that you can drink certain... More > beverages during each phase and tells you that each phase details will tell you what beverages you can drink during the phase, but none of the phases mention what beverages to drink. Each of the food journal tables has a heading of "Other Carbs not found in PRAL Density Tables" which I assume the table to be Appendix A, but Appendix A is a listing of every food that I think is in the USDA nutrition database. The PRAL value is just a calculation you can find in various places on the Internet. I think Appendix A is supposed to be divided up in some way but it is not. Page 82 "Limit your carbohydrate intake from the foods in Appendix A to 0.5 grams per pound of bodyweight....The only restriction placed during this phase is on the amount of carbohydrates consumed from the foods in Appendix A (not found in the PRAL Density Tables)." Every possible carbohydrate listed in the USDA database is in Appendix A including fruits and vegetables, so should I limit my intake of everything in Appendix A to 0.5 but this contradicts an earlier statement that tells me my carb intake should be 2x my protein intake, so there must be a difference in the types of carbs, but there is not table showing this. Page 74 - mentions that nuts and sauces listed in the tables are low in PRAL. There are no nuts listed in any table in the book, even in the PRAL table. Page 318 - typos in the PRAL table for spaghetti sauce (low sodium) and some acid density values are an exclamation point. Page 76 - "You may notice if you refer to the Appendix, some protein foods with a low acidic density were left out. Similarly, certain carbohydrate foods with a high alkaline density were eliminated. The criteria for elimination were as follows: 1. Carbohydrates foods that had additives, such as saccharin 2. Protein foods that had a high amount of total fat, greater than 2/3 of protein content. 3. Smoked meats." But I don’t think that any proteins were left out of the Appendix. The appendix even lists smoked meats in 35 different places. Also this food is a carbohydrate food due to the sugar in it and it has saccharin in too: Cranberry juice cocktail, bottled, low calorie,with calcium, saccharin and corn sweetener 19 0 0 6 ‐0.64 ‐0.11. Hopefully these issues will be addressed by Dr. Wong and a new update will be issued to the people who have bought this book. Christy< Less
