Jun 9, 2010"Father and Daughter Time" is a narrative of candid conversations between the author and her father. The layout of the story takes a different twist from the usual format for a book. The author selects a question and answer session format to convey the story as if the reader is listening to the actual conversation between father and daughter. The candid conversations reveal a transparent relationship on how father and daughter have interacted with each other throughout the years. The questions posed to the participants seek to explore deep into the relationship of a father and daughter bond. The book examines issues ranging from forgiveness to love to trust that each has had to embrace. The author candidly reveals how the bond, or lack thereof, between father and daughter influences future relationships – family, friendships and intimate. The dialogue between father and daughter also encourages the reader to pause and reflect on what their responses may be to the questions.... The diaglogue reveals some fundamentals that need to be present in every successful relationship. These fundamentals include communication, trust, openness, and love of family. Jan 9, 2010A.M. Morgan created quite a buzz when she first began publishing this series of conversations between her and her father, D. Lester Morgan, on Associated Content. I was an instant fan and eagerly anticipated the release of this book. Indeed, the Morgans did not disappoint. Every parent and child should be blessed to have the cathartic experience of dialoguing in such an open and heartfelt manner. Readers can anticipate the full range of emotions while reading "Father and Daughter Time"; you will laugh, cry, and most of all, you'll want to let the people that you love know just how much they mean to you.
Jan 5, 2010I spent several years working with Ms. Morgan as she furthered her education and lived through the Katrina hurricane and the aftermath from afar. This book fills in a lot of the back story that helped form such a principled young lady, and eventually led her to go back to the south to be near her family and extended family. It speaks frankly about how parenting can affect a childs progression towards adulthood and also how it molds the character that finally emerges with its own voice. I would suggest sitting down and reading it in one sitting.
