In this book series, I selected photographs to show a unique body of work that affected my own interpretation of what it means to experience a nostalgic return to the familiar. After two years studying photography in Syracuse, NY, I returned home to central Texas with new experience, knowledge and the idea to apply the concept of the ‘familiar’ to my photography. My work depicts my own personal relationship with Texas and its particular environment. More importantly, I incorporated a visual kinship with a past environment and applied a multitude of elements in my photographs.
