Nov 2, 2010Hope for a Better Life by Amy R. Murray is a fascinating journey where the author takes one into the before, during, and the how and why of adoption.Through faith, courage and strength, she shows how good can come from unfortunate circumstances. Emily has a wonderful life complete with husband ,family, and job satisfaction. She receives information regarding her birth mother around her fortieth birthday and this sets her on a course whereby her life would be totally complete but not without ups and downs and some bumps and bruises. I would not even consider myself a "casual reader" but I could not put this book down! Quite frankly, I wanted more! Kudos to Mrs. Murray....5/5 stars!
Oct 2, 2010I so enjoyed reading "Hope for a Better Life." As I read, I seemed to have emotions that ran the full gambit from tears when Emily & Margaret first talked to joy in recognition of God running His fingers through everyone's lives. It shows that God does indeed have a plan and it's not to play out in my time but His time! Thank you so much putting this story into words... It's a very touching and moving story. :~))
Sep 3, 2010I would highly recommend “Hope for a Better Life” to people of all ages, young and old alike. The author, Amy Murry, did a great job conveying the love and affection that Emily felt towards her adoptive parents and the rewarding life they provided. The author carefully illustrated the concerns and struggles Emily faced when the opportunity to actually exchange letters and possibly meet “face to face” with her birth mother was made possible. Questions began to surge. Why was Emily put up for adoption as an infant? What happened to her birth mother after she gave up her only child? What impact would such a meeting have on the immediate family Emily loved so much? What was Emily’s final decision? Great Book….Five Stars.
Sep 1, 2010A beautiful story of a woman's choice and a daughter's understanding. Every woman will relate and daughters and sons will see themselves in a different light. Thank you Amy, for sharing.
